Survey, design, civils, cabling, commissioning and handover — delivered by our own engineering teams and signed off against a live accredited Alarm Receiving Centre before we leave site.

  • Own vetted engineers — no subcontracted labour
  • DC-safe cabling around live PV strings and inverters
  • Commissioned against a live 24/7 monitoring centre
  • Full handover pack for O&M, insurers and lenders

Solar Farm CCTV Installation

Solar farm CCTV installation covers survey, cable planning, pole mounting and commissioning on live PV sites. Specialist installers manage HV coordination, trenching routes and BESS access without disrupting generation. Every solar security camera installation ships with power, comms and analytics tuned to the perimeter. Thermal, PTZ and audio devices are aligned, tested and handed over with evidential proof. Installations meet BS 8418 and NSI Gold standards.

What specialist solar farm CCTV installation involves

Installing CCTV on a solar farm is not the same job as installing it on a warehouse or a car park. Poles, cable routes, power sources and camera angles all have to be planned around live DC strings, inverter compounds and BESS units — and around thousands of metres of rural perimeter. Cutting corners on installation is what makes most solar CCTV systems underperform: blind spots at the fence line, unreliable comms, and cameras that trigger on wildlife.

A specialist installer designs coverage from the perimeter inward, engineers power and 4G/5G resilience, and commissions each camera against a monitored ARC so the system works on night one — not just on paper.

Our solar farm CCTV installation process

A repeatable six-stage process, refined over hundreds of solar farms, that produces a system commissioned against live monitored response before handover.

  1. 1

    Site survey

Walkover, threat assessment, sun-path and connectivity study.

  2. 2

    Design

Camera plan, pole positions, cabling routes, power and comms schematic.

  3. 3

    Civils & poles

Foundations, galvanised steel poles and lockable cabinets installed.

  4. 4

    Cabling

DC-safe SWA and fibre trenched or tray-routed clear of live plant.

  5. 5

    Commissioning

Every camera aligned, analytics tuned and signed off against a live ARC.

  6. 6

    Handover

As-built docs, evidence pack, training and SLA activation.

What sets our installation apart

The details that separate a compliant, insurance-grade solar farm CCTV installation from a generic one:

Specialist design

Perimeter-first coverage engineered around PV, inverters and BESS.

Own engineering teams

Directly employed, vetted engineers — no subcontracted labour.

DC-safe cabling

Trenching and containment routed clear of live DC strings and inverters.

Resilient power

Mains, hybrid or solar + lithium sized for winter autonomy.

Resilient comms

Dual-SIM 4G/5G with VPN backhaul or fibre where available.

ARC-commissioned

Every camera signed off against a live 24/7 monitoring centre.

Analytics tuning

Scene-specific rules to keep false alarms close to zero from day one.

Compliant handover

As-builts, GDPR docs, PIA and evidence pack delivered with the keys.

Poles, civils and DC-safe cabling

We use galvanised steel poles set on engineered foundations, with lockable equipment cabinets, tamper detection and surge protection as standard. Power and data cabling is routed in SWA and containment clear of live DC strings, inverters and BESS compounds, following the site's electrical safety rules and CDM plan throughout.

Power and connectivity

Where mains is available at the substation, we take a metered supply into managed switching and battery-backed UPS. On remote perimeter zones we design hybrid or solar + lithium power sized for at least seven days of winter autonomy. Backhaul is dual-SIM multi-network 4G/5G with VPN encryption, or fibre where the site can carry it.

Commissioning against a live ARC

Every camera is aligned, focused and detection-tested against the accredited Alarm Receiving Centre before sign-off. Scene rules, tour patrols, audio challenge zones and escalation logic are all configured and rehearsed with monitoring operators — the system is validated end-to-end, not just powered on.

Where the site is eligible, we support the police URN application under BS 8418 so verified alarms receive prioritised response from day one.

Construction, energisation and long-term operation

The highest-risk period is construction, when panels, inverters and cable are on site but permanent security is not yet live. We deploy monitored CCTV towers from day one and transition to the permanent system before energisation, so coverage is continuous through every project phase.

Handover documentation

Our installations complete with an audit-grade handover pack for O&M, insurers, lenders and asset managers:

  • As-built drawings and camera schedule
  • Power, comms and network topology
  • GDPR privacy impact assessment and signage plan
  • Cyber baseline and firmware register
  • Commissioning test sheets and ARC sign-off
  • Operator manuals and administrator training

Aftercare, maintenance and SLAs

Our role does not end at handover. Every installation is backed by a preventative maintenance and SLA programme that keeps the system compliant and monitored response uninterrupted:

  • Quarterly preventative maintenance visits
  • Continuous remote health monitoring
  • Signed firmware and cyber patch management
  • 24/7 fault response under SLA
  • PTZ, gasket and lens servicing as part of PPM
  • Planned upgrade path as the site evolves
